Policies

Whether your pet is joining us for boarding, daycare, or house sitting, our goal is to provide personalized care in a safe, welcoming environment. These policies help ensure a smooth experience for every pet and every family.

Before your pet's first reservation, please complete the following:

  • Create your Client Profile

  • Add a Pet Profile for each pet receiving services

  • Complete the service-specific intake form, including the Client Agreement & Liability Waiver

  • Provide current vaccination records (when required)

  • Schedule a complimentary Meet & Greet (recommended for boarding, daycare, and house sitting)

Reservations are not considered confirmed until all required information has been received, reviewed, and approved by Kennels & K9s.

We highly recommend a complimentary Meet & Greet for all first-time boarding, daycare, and house sitting clients.

During your visit you'll:

  • Meet Us

  • Tour the home environment

  • Discuss your pet's routine

  • Review care instructions

  • Ask questions

Appointments are scheduled for up to one hour, although most visits last approximately 20–30 minutes depending on your pet's comfort level.

Training Consultations

Booking & Reservation Process

Complimentary 30-minute Consultations are available for new training clients.

Consultations are designed to:

  • Discuss training goals

  • Evaluate behavior

  • Recommend the appropriate program

Consultations are not full training sessions.

Vaccination Requirements

To help protect every pet in our care, we require:

Required

  • Rabies

  • DHPP (or DAPP)

  • Current flea prevention

  • Current tick prevention

  • Current heartworm prevention

 

Distemper / Combination Vaccination
For pets attending daycare or boarding, required vaccinations must be administered by a licensed veterinarian. Home-administered vaccinations may be accepted for House Sitting and In-Home Training only, but pets vaccinated at home are not eligible for daycare, boarding, or other socialization-based services.

What to Bring

For boarding stays, please bring:

  • Food for the entire stay

  • Feeding instructions

  • Medications (if needed)

  • Favorite blanket or bed (optional)

  • Favorite toy (optional)

  • Leash and collar

Please label all belongings.

Feeding & Medication

We follow your pet's normal routine whenever possible.

Please provide:

  • Feeding schedule

  • Portion sizes

  • Medication instructions

  • Any allergies or dietary restrictions

Medication administration is included for most routine medications.

House Sitting

House sitting allows pets to remain in the comfort of their own home while maintaining their normal routine.

We care for:

  • Dogs

  • Cats

  • Birds

  • Rabbits

  • Reptiles

  • Fish

  • Chickens

  • Small mammals

  • Many other companion animals

Please discuss specialized care needs before booking.

Boarding Philosophy

Kennels & K9s is not a commercial kennel.

Our home-style boarding provides:

  • Personalized attention

  • Comfortable home environment

  • Enrichment activities

  • Supervised play

  • Daily exercise

  • Rest periods

  • Individualized care

Every pet receives attention based on their personality and comfort level.

Kennels & K9s reserves the right to refuse, shorten, or terminate a boarding stay if a pet displays behavior that poses a safety risk to themselves, other pets, staff, or property. In such cases, the owner or emergency contact will be notified immediately to arrange pickup.

Health & Emergencies

If your pet becomes ill or injured while in our care, we will make every reasonable effort to contact you immediately.

If emergency veterinary treatment is necessary and you cannot be reached, Kennels & K9s may seek treatment from a licensed veterinarian in the best interest of your pet.

Owners are responsible for any veterinary expenses incurred.

Behavior & Safety

For the safety of all pets and people:

  • Dogs must be non-aggressive toward people.

  • Behavioral concerns should be disclosed before booking.

  • Pets must be safely handled on arrival and departure.

  • Kennels & K9s reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services if a pet presents a safety risk.

Cancellations

Please provide as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule your reservation.

Holiday reservations and long-term stays may be subject to different cancellation policies.

Long-Term Boarding

Discounted rates may be available for qualifying extended stays, including:

  • Military deployments

  • TDY assignments

  • Extended travel

  • Emergency situations

Please contact us for availability.

Holidays

Holiday reservations fill quickly.

We recommend booking as early as possible for:

  • Thanksgiving

  • Christmas

  • New Year's

  • Spring Break

  • Summer vacations

Holiday availability is limited.

Client Portal

Returning clients can manage their information through their secure client account.

Your portal allows you to:

  • Update pet information

  • Upload vaccination records

  • Book services

  • View reservations

  • Manage contact information
